T-Mobile this morning officially declared its unique partnership with the brand new streaming service, Quibi, set to roll out on April 6. The service will be available for free for 365 days to T-Mobile subscribers on its unlimited wireless family subscriptions.
The streaming service, started by Hollywood media mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, has been specifically constructed for on-the-go viewing on mobile units. Its shows can be watched in 10 minutes or less and benefit from the mobile device’s potential to be held different ways to allow smooth switching between portrait and landscape modes.
Due to Katzenberg’s industry connections, Quibi exclusive content will feature A-Listers and other big names, along with Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, Chance the Rapper, Liam Hemsworth, Sophie Turner, Reese Witherspoon and others.
Usually, Quibi subscriptions are offered at $4.99 per 30 days for its ad-supported plan or $7.99 monthly for its advert-free option.
Quibi had confirmed last October that a contract with T-Mobile was in place, in statements made to various news outlets. However, the details of the agreement itself weren’t yet introduced nor confirmed by T-Mobile at that time.
T-Mobile prospects can go to mytmobile.com now through July 7 to subscribe, or they can use the T-Mobile Android or iOS app starting on April 6 to add Quibi.
